9 yearsThis bloke straight up said he hacks into computers. If you get a ring from him, just put the phone down straight away and never ever let anyone log into your computer or laptop 'cause of him. Don’t listen to anything he says either - the more you stay on the line, the easier it is for him to spy on your devices and swipe your info. Stay safe and don’t engage!9 yearsToday, around 9.30am on a Saturday, I got a call from a bloke with a really thick Indian accent. He said he was calling from Microsoft and claimed I had a licence registered under my name, even gave me a number to check. He asked me to switch on my computer and verify it. I asked how I could be sure he was really from Microsoft. He said his name was Michael James, gave me an ID mag04 and a phone number 0136180856, said to call him back if I wanted. He kept saying it seemed like my computer might’ve been hacked. Told me to turn it on, log in, and hit the reset button at the bottom. I said I’d get some advice before calling him back. He pressured me saying I should do it quick cos hackers are active, just like the BBC reported. He also mentioned an address: RG6 1W, Reading James Valley Park. Bit fishy if you ask me.MicrosoftMichael JamesBBC NewsReadingJames Valley Park9 yearsReceived a call from them today - the classic Microsoft scam, of course.
