Then I asked how much I'd supposedly paid when buying the cover - they said £568 on 15th Dec 2019. I looked through my paperwork, never spent that much on any insurance. Definitely a scam, but could easily fool someone not paying attention.

There’s a firm called Domestic Appliances, which I can’t locate anywhere on the internet nor have I ever heard of them. They keep insisting I already pay them via direct debit but refuse to share any details. They’re quite rude and dodge all my questions. They say my policy renewed a week ago without me knowing, and now they’re offering a discount because I haven’t made a claim in the past year. Well of course I haven’t made a claim - I don’t even know who they are or how to get in touch with them! They keep calling constantly, pushing me to claim this discount.

Got a call out of the blue from someone pushing insurance for kitchen gadgets. Told them to take me off their list ASAP since I don’t want random calls like that.

I reckon it was a total scam, this woman said she was from Microsoft. I was like, "Excuse me?" Then she said, "What do you mean?" in this kind of sharp voice, even though I hadn’t said anything yet. I told her to take me off their list and stop calling, no more ringing me up. Honestly, the moment she mentioned Microsoft, I knew it was dodgy.
