3 yearsGot a call at work from this number, was a lady with a super posh accent asking to talk to a director. She said it was a survey about air quality for the government and defra or something. We’re registered with TPS but they managed to get through anyway. Feels like TPS does nothing at all!DEFRATelephone Preference Service3 yearsGot a call from this number last night but I wouldn't talk to them and just hung up. Since then, Mori has been bothering me both face-to-face and sending letters, which made me really doubtful. I made a note of the number that the scammer keeps using.Mori3 yearsThey said it was all legit.4 yearsTotal junk calls!4 yearsA woman rang me and talked really quickly, claiming she was conducting a survey. I was a little bored, so I let her carry on, but the questions were really strange - everything from my thoughts on the NHS to how many computers I own. After a few moments, I told her I’d had enough and hung up. She called me three times in just one day, so I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.NHS4 yearsAs soon as I picked up and my answerphone started, the caller just ended the call without saying anything or leaving a message.5 yearsGot a call where someone was asking for the manager. The caller claimed to be representing Ipsos MORI and wanted to engage me in a survey about my television and radio viewing habits, as well as my internet usage. They mentioned that I’d need to download an app on my smartphone to facilitate the data collection, offering £10 a month for my participation. However, the idea of installing an application that would delve into my browsing history, and potentially other personal details on my laptop, left me feeling quite uneasy. After some deliberation, I opted not to partake in the survey but decided to gather more information about the caller. I requested that they send me an email with specifics regarding the research, including terms and conditions, before I committed. To my surprise, they insisted that this could only happen after I completed an initial 20-minute phone questionnaire. When I probed further, asking for assurance that they were indeed calling from Ipsos MORI, they suggested I check their number online. Upon doing so, I realized that the 0131... number was nowhere to be found on the Ipsos MORI website. The fact that I was being contacted outside of standard office hours also raised some red flags; the caller claimed they reach out in the evenings or weekends for convenience. While it’s possible that this could have been a legitimate Ipsos MORI outreach, the caller was amiable and responsive to my inquiries. Still, my scepticism about scams, especially those that could compromise my computer's security, has grown significantly. Ultimately, I chose not to participate in the survey, and I’ve since blocked this number on my device.Ipsos MORISubmit Your Own Report (13156114532)
