7 yearsGot a call from a bloke claiming he was from BT, telling me there was an issue with my internet. I told him I’m not a BT customer, but he kept going on about BT being the ‘mother of all systems’ or something. I called it out as a scam straight away. He was a guy with an Indian accent and said he even knew my internet security code. I told him to jog on, and then he tried threatening me, saying he’d cut off my internet in two hours. The call came through on my ex-directory landline. Proper dodgy.BT7 yearsMy landline is set to pick up on the answerphone straight away so I can listen to who's calling before I actually take the call. Usually, mates and family say their name so I know it’s safe to answer. This number's rung me a few times though and never once dropped a message. Proper strange!7 yearsSomeone said it was BT calling, but I couldn’t make out a word they said, so I just ended the call. Definitely felt like a scam to me!BT7 yearsI got a call from this number earlier today. I didn’t pick up and let it go to voicemail, but there was no message left. There was some sort of office noise in the back, so I’m guessing it was just another one of those dodgy calls saying stuff like “we understand you were in a crash that wasn’t your fault” or something like that.7 yearsGot a call from a woman saying she was with BT, I just hung up on her straight away.BT7 yearsGot a call from 0131 552 3957, said they were with BT but something seemed off. I’m pretty sure they were fakes. Used caller protect to block them straight away.BT7 yearsGot a call from 01315523957, supposedly from BT. The bloke had a thick Indian accent and I couldn’t really catch what he was saying. Felt dodgy to me, definitely a scam. Could be a real problem for older folks who might fall for it.Submit Your Own Report (0131 552 3957)
