They started off talking but whatever they said went right over my head, then as soon as I kept saying hello a couple of times, they just dropped the call. I’m guessing it’s cause I probably sound quite young, so they figured it’d be harder to scam me.

My nan got called twice recently, first someone pretending to be from Microsoft saying there was a problem with her computer - she wasn’t having any of it and told them to shove off. Then another one rang claiming to be from BT, reckoning they had info about my late stepdad and that the landline was involved in some dodgy activity. They said they’d already sent a letter and asked my nan to get her mobile so they could fix the issue. She asked them to just send the letter again, and the bloke got all stroppy and hung up. Just a couple of scammers, nothing else.
