I received a call from someone wanting to discuss my life insurance policy. I made it quite clear that I'd never divulge such personal details to an utter stranger over the phone.

This guy rings me up sayin' it's about life insurance. I tell him I'm busy at work and not really up for it. He goes on, saying I'll be sorry if I hang up and begs me to spare five minutes. When I ask him to take my info off their list, he says that's not possible. The number was from Edinburgh, but the bloke’s voice and the chatter behind him sounded proper English, not Scottish at all.

Got a call from a York area code, but it just cut off straight away. Ringing it back, you’re told to leave a message because apparently all the reps are tied up. Bit strange if you ask me.
