They used my name and claimed to be from something called line verification. When I asked what that meant and why they were ringing, the guy just laughed and asked if I didn’t know what a landline was. I asked what kind of line rental he assumed I had, and he guessed wrong. I tried to find out how they got my number and what they wanted, but then he just cut off the call - really cheeky. Don’t share any details with them.

This number has called me quite a few times, and apart from once, I ignored it. Today I got so annoyed seeing it pop up that I picked up. The caller asked me if I was who I said I was and if I lived at my address. Probably not the smartest move, but I said yes and then they just ended the call.

Got called by a scammer again today, that’s twice now. They kept asking for personal details and when I grilled them about where they were calling from, they got all shifty and defensive. Really suspicious lot, wouldn’t trust them one bit. Proper lying scumbags preying on innocent and vulnerable folks.

I received a rather dubious phone call today from some scammers posing as representatives of UK benefits. When I asked them to drop me an email, I had a feeling they wouldn't follow through - and surprise, surprise, they didn’t! It was an Asian chap, going by the name of "Peter", who became increasingly flustered when I hinted at my homelessness. He cut the line rather promptly. Honestly, it feels hopeless to put an end to these incessant calls, especially since it seems the government is utterly indifferent. Yet, I must admit, reading through others’ experiences does provide a bit of comfort, knowing I’m not alone in this irritating situation with these relentless nuisance callers.

I got a call from 'You Benefit' asking me to take part in some survey. I said I wasn't interested in answering any questions and they just ended the call. I've blocked the number since then.

Someone with an asian accent and poor English called, asking for my Mrs’s maiden name. When I asked who they were, they just cut the call. Think I need to have a loud whistle ready for next time. Feels like it might be "Benefits U.K." since they always ring from different numbers.

If you've got caller ID on your mobile, just let the phone ring. If not, simply answer it, stay silent for a moment, and then hang up. Honestly, it's hardly worth your time to engage with these sorts of callers. The same goes for any other suspicious numbers you might encounter!

A dodgy seller attempting to fish for your card information. I strung them along with a fake card number-F U 1234567891011 12. Can you believe their stupidity? I managed to keep them on the line for a good ten minutes, feeding them nonsense until they finally hung up in frustration. Absolutely hilarious!

Someone called claiming to be from Calls Protect and gave me a number to reach them on, but the call actually came from 01536522200. They said if I paid £29 they’d stop unwanted calls forever. They even knew my name, address, and postcode, then asked me to confirm the expiry date on my bank card - I said no thanks. They ended up hanging up after that. Watch out!

I received a similar call myself earlier today. When I inquired about the number, they provided it without hesitation. I told them I’d look into it and get back to them, but, of course, I have absolutely no intention of ringing them again.

i felt really uneasy with this firm since they seemed to have loads of info about me and my bank. they asked for the long number on my bank card which made me really worried. then they put me through to someone claiming to be a supervisor but when i asked how they get their funding, they just hung up on me. very fishy indeed.

I received a call from these dodgy lot attempting to swindle me out of cash for a call-blocking service. What a cheeky move! They presented themselves quite convincingly, providing an address, an email, and even named a bloke called Mark Nicholl as their point of contact. To add insult to injury, they even used the address for the Telephone Preference Service in London. Total scam, if you ask me!

Got a call from this number tonight, with someone claiming a person with that name was at my place, which is totally not true. When I told them to take my number off their list, they just started shouting at me and then ended the call abruptly.

I've been receiving calls from this number based in India, which seems to be linked to a business that constantly rebrands itself with various names - predominantly something to do with "lifestyle." It's become a right nuisance, as I'm bombarded with these calls regularly. I've registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS), so they ought not to be bothering me at all. They tend to bombard you with questions under the guise of a survey. Often, they'll ask if you’d like more information about a so-called "Purple Insurance Company." Even if you decline, guess what? They keep trying to reach you anyway! My suggestion? Just cut the conversation short and hang up as swiftly as you can! Otherwise, you'll find yourself in an endless loop of their calls!

i got a call from a lady speaking with a really strong indian accent, she was checking if my address was exactly how she said it. they at least left a number, but honestly, it was pretty annoying.
