They used my name and claimed to be from something called line verification. When I asked what that meant and why they were ringing, the guy just laughed and asked if I didn’t know what a landline was. I asked what kind of line rental he assumed I had, and he guessed wrong. I tried to find out how they got my number and what they wanted, but then he just cut off the call - really cheeky. Don’t share any details with them.

This number has called me quite a few times, and apart from once, I ignored it. Today I got so annoyed seeing it pop up that I picked up. The caller asked me if I was who I said I was and if I lived at my address. Probably not the smartest move, but I said yes and then they just ended the call.

Got called by a scammer again today, that’s twice now. They kept asking for personal details and when I grilled them about where they were calling from, they got all shifty and defensive. Really suspicious lot, wouldn’t trust them one bit. Proper lying scumbags preying on innocent and vulnerable folks.

Got a call from some scammer pretending to be from UK Benefits, cold called me outta nowhere. I told them to email me info, which of course never came through. The bloke, said his name was Peter and sounded Asian, started getting all flustered when I mentioned I was homeless, then just cut me off. Honestly, there's no stopping these calls since the government doesn’t seem bothered. But reading other folks’ stories about this crap does make me laugh a bit - at least I’m not the only one dealing with these nuisance calls.

I got a call from 'You Benefit' asking me to take part in some survey. I said I wasn't interested in answering any questions and they just ended the call. I've blocked the number since then.

Someone with an asian accent and poor English called, asking for my Mrs’s maiden name. When I asked who they were, they just cut the call. Think I need to have a loud whistle ready for next time. Feels like it might be "Benefits U.K." since they always ring from different numbers.

This was a total rip off, trying to scam me for my card info. I played along and gave them the fake card number F.U. 1234567891011 12. If you think about it, they’re really daft. I kept chatting for like 10 minutes, giving absolutely nothing, then they just hung up on me. So funny!

Someone called claiming to be from Calls Protect and gave me a number to reach them on, but the call actually came from 01536522200. They said if I paid £29 they’d stop unwanted calls forever. They even knew my name, address, and postcode, then asked me to confirm the expiry date on my bank card - I said no thanks. They ended up hanging up after that. Watch out!

They rang me up pretending to be from a call blocking firm, trying to rip me off for a device. The nerve of them! They had all the details too - an address, an email, and someone called Mark Nicholl as the contact. Just like another story I’d heard, they called me on 14/3/18 claiming they could provide a call blocker. I told them I didn’t want or need their service since I don’t get nuisance calls. They kept saying there’d be no fees at all, no weekly or monthly payments. Then they said they just needed my card details for ID - but moments later, they said I’d be charged £55 for the device. When I protested, the call cut off but they already had my card info. They gave me their phone number - 013115070413 - but no one picks up when I ring back.

i felt really uneasy with this firm since they seemed to have loads of info about me and my bank. they asked for the long number on my bank card which made me really worried. then they put me through to someone claiming to be a supervisor but when i asked how they get their funding, they just hung up on me. very fishy indeed.

I got a phone call from someone pretending to be selling a call blocking device, trying to scam me out of cash. They sounded pretty convincing, had a name - Mark Nicholl - along with an email and an address. They even used the official TPS London address to sound legit. Total scam, don’t fall for it!

Got a call from this number tonight, with someone claiming a person with that name was at my place, which is totally not true. When I told them to take my number off their list, they just started shouting at me and then ended the call abruptly.

This number is actually based in India, and the company operates under loads of different names, mostly with "Lifestyle" somewhere in the title - like Lifestyle Choices, Lifestyle Something, you know the drill. I get calls from them non-stop, and it’s driving me mad. I’m on the TPS list too, so technically they shouldn’t be contacting me at all. They bombard you with tons of questions, calling it a survey. Usually, they throw in something like "would you be interested in hearing about Purple Insurance?" and even if you say no, they’ll keep calling anyway. Best thing to do is just end the call straight away, put the phone down quick, otherwise they’ll never stop hassling you!
