Got a call from 01315070183 claiming to be Ipsos Mori knocking on Halifax's behalf. Told them straight up that banks always warn us they won’t ring us directly. The person sounded legit at first, but once I mentioned that banking rule about no calls, they just hung up. Now I've blocked the number just to be safe.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with TSB and right away they knew my name. Then they asked if I was male, female, other, or didn’t want to say. When I replied female, they suddenly said they couldn’t continue. I asked why and apparently they’d already reached their quota of female responses. Bit odd, no???

Got a call about a bank survey at 7:27 pm. They already had my name and which bank I used. Then they just disconnected. Pretty odd.

This number rang me up earlier and I picked up since I have a mate in Edinburgh. The bloke sounded quite polite with a Scottish accent. He said he was from IPSOS MORI (or something like that) and wanted to ask me a few questions about my account with ***** bank. I told him I’m not comfortable discussing bank stuff over the phone, then he said thanks and we ended the call. No clue how they got hold of my number though.

They called and already knew my name and the bank I use, saying they were from "TSB". I played along to see what they wanted. They asked me to agree to being recorded and confirmed I wasn’t driving, which I did. After that, they started on about some kind of marketing stuff, so I just ended the call and blocked their number straight away.

I got a call from someone saying they were from my bank doing a quick survey. They only asked me one question before suddenly ending the call. When I phoned my bank to double check, they told me it wasn’t them and that there’s no survey going on at all - so it’s defo a scam.

I picked up the phone and the caller actually said my name right away. When I asked where they got my number from, they said it was passed on by my bank. They didn’t try to get any personal details from me though. They just wanted to check if I was satisfied with the bank's services. After I told them I was unhappy that the bank shared my info without my permission, I said I’d be contacting the bank to raise a complaint. The caller seemed polite enough but I was really surprised since the bank always tells us not to share any info.

Got a call just before 10pm from a very courteous chap who said he was doing a survey for TSB. Bit odd to me since these bank surveys usually happen in normal office hours, not late at night. I decided to pass on the survey cause with all the scams and fraud popping up in the news lately, I’m just not feeling too trusting of random calls now. It’s a shame really, makes you wonder how much trust people have lost these days when you always have to be on your guard.

I picked up and a guy called Andre said he was from Ipsos. He wanted to ask me a few questions about banking with TSB. When I told him I wasn’t interested, he just hung up on me. Bit rude if you ask me.

Yeah, it’s actually Ipsos MORI calling, though you wouldn't realise it just picking up. There’s so many dodgy scam survey calls these days, it’s hard to tell. I’d suggest not getting involved with the questions and just blocking the number to be safe. It’s a real shame that all these scammy calls could end up ruining things for genuine research firms like this one. But at least this number isn’t one of those scams.

This isn’t actually Ipsos Mori calling. While the number might belong to them, the people on the other end definitely aren’t. It’s those same dodgy ‘energy consultants’ who keep switching numbers and pretending to be from some energy hub offering stuff like insulation, windows and doors. Worse still, they sometimes claim to be bank customer service doing surveys. Below are some of the 0131 numbers they've been ringing from this year: 0131 5070 183 on 1st August and 1st September, 0131 5818 642 on 20th September, and 0131 5818 573 on 10th October. Watch out for them!

Got a call from someone saying he was Imran and he actually knew my name and which bank I use. He claimed it was some kind of survey for RBS. I was driving to a doctor's appointment at the time, so told him I couldn’t chat. After that, no more calls, thankfully!

I got a call the other day and they were asking for my sister by name! When I asked where they got my number from, the woman just wouldn’t tell me. I wanted to know why they were calling, and she said it was for a survey about something my sister supposedly used. But she refused to say what product or what company she was with. It felt totally suspicious, especially since my sister's been really ill in hospital for quite a while now. Definitely sounds like a scam to me.
