Got a call from someone called "Go Direct" about a car accident claim. They insisted I had filed a claim, but I don't even drive or have a vehicle. Then the woman, who said her name was Lisa, suggested maybe it was about an accident where I was a passenger. Not true at all! I’ve blocked the number and reported them. Don’t share any details with these people! Total scam.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with HMRC wanting to discuss Customs and Trade matters with our Director. Since we handle that kind of stuff, I tried to get some details so I could pass it to the right person, but the caller was quite unpleasant. Told them the Director’s not the one to speak to, and they kept insisting I couldn’t be sure about that if I didn’t know who was. In the end, I just ended the call and blocked the number on my “do not pick up” list.

Reading through these comments, I’d like to add my two pennies. I never pick up calls from numbers that aren’t saved in my Contacts and always look them up on this site to see if others have had encounters with them. This time, I blocked the number straight away. For me, the real indicator is if they bother to leave a voicemail. If it’s urgent, they’d leave a message, no doubt. So, I’m pretty convinced this was just some automated spam call trying to get a reaction.

I got a call from a woman claiming she was from IPSOS, saying the government wanted some information. I didn’t let her finish and just ended the call.

Got a call just before 9pm from a 0131 number, which is supposed to be from Scotland. I didn’t pick up and they didn’t leave a voicemail or anything. So, I just ended up blocking them!

Got a call from someone saying they were from a government agency, trying to get me to fill out a quick 10 min cyber security survey. Felt totally dodgy, like some sort of scam. Proper crooks if you ask me!

I got a call from Ipsos Mori the other night around 8.35pm on a Tuesday, which felt really odd. Surely, a legit company wouldn't ring that late? Seems like a scam to me. I'm blocking the number now. You’d think a well-known company like Ipsos Mori would be taking steps to stop this, especially since they should have some influence with authorities.

This number rings us almost daily, but only once, so we reckon they're hoping we'll ring them back - fat chance! I reckon it’s a scam pretending to be Ipsos since they’ve got no permission from them whatsoever. Honestly, these callers deserve a medal for being the worst!

This person said they were from the UK Government, but their English was terrible. They kept asking for the top boss in our company. Surely the government would know better, right? I just blocked them straight away.

They rang me a couple of times. I answered the second time, thinking it might be something serious, but it turned out to be someone doing a survey. I cut them off quick, saying I wasn’t interested and demanded they remove me from their list before they could even explain what the survey was for.

This bloke said he was from Ipsos, used to be called Mori, doing some survey about pensions. He rattled off loads of questions about what kind of pension I have. When I asked him to send me an email with his info, he said that’s not how they usually work. I told him to find a real job before I hung up!

Got a call from someone claiming to be MORI, said they knew I’d done a survey before, which was true, so seemed legit at first. Then they asked me to download an app onto my phone promising rewards for using it. Definitely raised alarm bells for me, I never just download apps like that, so I ended the call. Felt like a scam, can’t see MORI asking that kind of thing. Also, the woman on the phone had a noticeable accent.

Just did a survey with Ipsos Mori, checked it was legit on their site, and this caller actually knew about it and had my full name. She tried to chat about a different Mori survey, but when she mentioned I could “earn” vouchers for shopping, it felt off. I told her no thanks and ended the call.

I use BT call blocker and it stopped this number from ringing me 3 times over the past week. I looked it up here and decided to unblock it for a bit. Turns out I’m now doing a paid survey with them and have already earned £40. I made sure not to share any details at first and asked a bunch of questions about who they were, why they called, and how they had my number. The chap actually appreciated that I didn't just hang up or give him a hard time, and he was quite thankful for me being polite.

I received two calls from this number around 8 in the evening, and to my surprise, they actually used my name! Naturally, I was a bit taken aback but decided to pick up the phone after some hesitation. The caller claimed to be conducting research that I had supposedly signed up for and wanted me to participate in a survey right then and there. While it did seem to fit in with the way the platform operates, I couldn’t shake off my unease, so I told them I wasn't sure when I'd be free for it. It's quite unsettling that they had my personal information!
