Like a few others have said, they were oddly insistent, kept ringing me back after I’d ended the call. They were super pushy, and I reckon older folks might easily fall for it. They even gave me a number to ring them back on. Asked me to run some command prompt file, which sounded dodgy to me.

I also came across these numbers linked to the scam: 02129884918 and 02132583603. I've already reported them to the Action Fraud helpline (mentioned earlier in my post), and they've advised everyone getting calls from these numbers to report it too.

Got a call from 01314710978, some bloke called Brad with an Indian accent saying he was from BT’s tech team. He claimed our internet wasn’t safe. I asked him for his phone number and he gave me that same number but added extension 8644. He told me to ring back to verify it was BT, and then he’d call me back to talk about our connection. No chance I’m doing that! I checked BT using 1471 for the last incoming number and it actually showed up as 0214 210 0493.

Got calls from 01314710978 saying they were from BT and threatening to cut off my internet for half a year. This has been going on for three days straight! When I called them out as scammers, they threatened to involve the police, and creepiest bit - they even knew my address. Definitely trying to rip people off.

got a call from some indian call centre who claimed i was from bt internet, saying my internet had been hacked. they wanted me to get teamviewer so they could 'fix' the issue, but i got a bad feeling since that would give them control of my pc. they gave me a phone number to ring back tho.
