Recieved a call from a number starting with 131 around 8:30 in the evening. Seriously, who calls that late if they're genuine? I just let it ring and ignored it, like always. People keep getting pestered by these numbers and honestly, who needs the added hassle? To make it worse, I can’t even block the number on my own phone. So much for protection. And what’s done about it? Absolutely nothing. Door-to-door cold callers are banned, so why can't we have the same rules for phone calls? It’s ridiculous!

Received the exact same call earlier. Person spoke with a strong foreign accent saying they were from HMRC, but there was loads of noise like other people talking in the background. They wanted my name, postcode and DOB. I said I wasn’t comfortable giving info over the phone and that my accountant would be in touch, then I ended the call.

About 45 mins ago, I got a call from someone claiming to be from HMS, saying my name showed up and that my house is surrounded, so I need to ring them back urgently. When I called the number back and asked who it was, the person said no one and then just hung up. Very weird.

Got the same message today, really annoying! I rang Thames Valley Police and told them what happened, even played the recording for them. They tried phoning the number back but no answer. They told me to contact Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040 instead. I just don’t get why the police can’t track where the number’s actually registered via BT. Anyway, that’s that!

Got a call from some robot saying my home is being watched or sumthing, then it said HMRC is gonna take me to court if I dont ring this number. I live nowhere near Edinburgh. When this call came through the first time, my husband freaked out hearing HMRC and something about a lawsuit. The message was left on his answerphone - as soon as I heard “lawsuit” I knew it sounded dodgy. Got a bot call threatening me with prosecution if I didn’t respond. Called back for a laugh and some bloke picked up, said he was from HMRC. When I asked for proof, he started babbling about some badge number and government work or whatever. Told him he was a conman and then he started shouting abuse at me. Got the same message as all the others, was certain it was a scam so I tried calling back. The bloke who picked up just cut me off right in the middle of me talking. Proper terrible for older people and those who are vulnerable!!!

Just got one of those automated messages again, even though my number’s blocked. They were saying something about my house being watched and that I’m a main suspect in a fraud investigation... feels awful for people who might actually buy into this, especially if they're vulnerable.

Got a call from someone claiming my house was under surveillance. I called them back, gave them a fake name and birthday. They kept insisting I owed taxes, but I told them I’m a stay-at-home mum and wouldn’t have filed anything. They just ended the call on me.

I received a rather alarming message today, claiming my home was being monitored, and that I should call back to evade legal action. It's clear they are just dialling up random mobile numbers. Truly, these individuals ought to face charges for their menacing conduct.

Honestly, it sounds terrifying, especially for older people who might freak out. They asked me to call back, so I’m guessing they’re after money or something dodgy? Got a voicemail that was about 25 seconds long at 10:52 this morning. It was some automatic male voice saying there’s a lawsuit with my name on it, calling me the main suspect. Also said my home is being watched and if I don’t ring back on their given number soon, I’ll face legal action. This sounds really fishy and just total rubbish. Definitely not how real official stuff works.

Got an automated call saying I’m being investigated for fraud by HMRC and that my home was being watched. Rang the number back, some bloke picked up and began asking for my details like name and postcode, then the call just cut off. Tried calling again but no reply. Proper rubbish.

This number rang me yesterday around 6:13pm, saying it was from HMRC and mentioned something about my house being watched and a prime suspect. I just want to let everyone know, don’t panic if you get a call like this. The police and HMRC already know where we’re all based, and if you haven’t done anything wrong, there’s no need to worry. Best thing is to report the call straight away to the police or HMRC to stay safe.
