Got a call from what looked like an Edinburgh dialling code but sounded like it was coming straight outta Calcutta. Definitely one of those dodgy scam calls.

This number isn’t real, tried to call the landline. Seriously, stop harassing older folks, it’s just not on. You lot need to sort yourselves out. If I ever find where you live, trust me, people won’t be happy and might want payback. Total scammers, honestly.

They’re a scam, so best to just ignore their calls completely. Don’t bother getting involved with them.

I got a call from this number earlier today but I just said hi and ended the call. When I tried to ring them back, the phone was off.

Someone called me earlier, saying they were a health care expert named Kevin Walter. Thing is, they had a really Asian accent, so the name just didn’t feel right to me at all!

Got a call from someone saying his name was Kevin Walter - a strange choice for the person, who sounded obviously Asian and said he was a doctor or something. He even knew my husband's name, which seemed odd. He told me to ring 01970606151. Then I checked the number that rang me using 1471 and it showed 01313858242. Feels a bit dodgy to me, is this some kind of scam?

Some bloke rang me, claiming to be from a health service or summat, so I asked him how he managed to get my number since I'm on the TPS. He just hung up straight away after that.

I let it go to voicemail and it just beeped off without them leaving anything. When I searched the number online, turns out it was a scam. So grateful for sites like this that help us spot these dodgy calls!

I got a message inviting me to a Call Blocker, but since nobody replied back, I’m pretty sure it was a scam. So, I ended up blocking the number for good.

Got a call from some guy with an Irish accent who said his name was William. When I asked why he was ringing, he launched into this rehearsed spiel about all sorts of health problems he could fix. He insisted the call was important since I’m apparently a registered pensioner. I just told him nicely to do one.

Got a ring on my landline, which is on the TPS list, just 9 minutes before my alarm was set to go off. It woke me right up, and I managed to grab the phone just in time before it could leave a voicemail. The caller used my last name, then asked if I was still in bed. I told him, "No, you actually just woke me!" Oddly, the bloke was quite courteous for a scammer, even saying sorry and promising to ring back later. Funny thing is, the number he called from, which was meant to be from Edinburgh, is now blocked.

They didn’t bother leaving a message, so I looked up the number here and, no shock really, it turned out to be a shady one. Just a heads up to everyone - if you get a call from a number you don’t recognise, best to let it go to voicemail. If it’s something important, they’ll ring you back anyway. Stay safe!

I got a call asking about some health care stuff, but the bloke reckoned I was a pensioner just 'cause of how I sounded. As soon as he said that, I just ended the call.

A man called claiming to be a senior healthcare officer responsible for elderly care in our locality. He started asking about my mum’s health and if she wanted a visit at home. I stepped in and asked who the doctor was that sent him, but he didn’t reply. He spoke with a thick Asian accent which was quite hard to get. Then he mentioned they’d been to our place previously. Since we had no idea what he was talking about, he just ended the call saying he’d update the records.

I got a call from some bloke claiming to be with a group that helps older people. He started asking about my health and whether I was on some elderly registry. Seemed a bit dodgy to me. Then he went on about some herbal treatment for arthritis. When I told him I wasn’t interested, he just ended the call.

I got a call from someone called Mr Green who knew my name, address and even my postcode! He said I was listed on some sort of senior citizen and pensioner list. When I asked how they got my number, he couldn’t really give a clear answer. I told him this sounded like a GDPR violation since I never agreed for my details to be shared like that. Then he called me rude and hung up! Just a heads up - any legit organisation must get your permission before passing your info on to others, that’s what the GDPR rules are about.

“Hello, is this Mrs xxx?” “Yes, who’s this please?” “It’s Venus Health - hope you’re well today?” I just hung up straight away. When some random person opens with “how are you today?”, you can bet they’re either trying to sell you something or it’s a scam, sometimes even both at once.
