Had a missed call from an unknown number, didn’t answer at first since I didn’t recognise it. Rang back but the voicemail was all jumbled up, sounded like someone saying "Leeds Tech" or someting, which was odd cos the number is from Edinburgh. Feels like a scam so I’ve just blocked it.

I answered a call from a number I didn't recognise, but all I got was this robotic voice that just said "bye" and then they hung up right away.

I struggled to grasp what she was saying-her English seemed off, or perhaps she was just mumbling intentionally. All I caught was some mention of a 40% discount, which struck me as rather odd. When I told her I couldn’t make sense of it, she suggested emailing me instead. I have to say, it felt quite dodgy, like it was definitely a scam.

Complete con trick pretending to be from PPI claims, telling me I’d gotten £2550 plus interest of £1550 back from my bank. When they asked which bank I used, I said “Bank of Paris” (which is totally made up) and they didn’t catch on. They gave me some sort of reference and ID numbers, claiming they never request bank or card info, and mentioned the money was in a ‘wallet’ or something. Then they handed me over to another caller with an Asian accent, who asked again for the ref and ID codes. I fed him some fake ones. More to come...

This was clearly a scam. They try to tempt you with a “discount on your existing plan” but that’s just a way to grab your info and ask for money. Just end the call and get in touch with your provider using their official number - but use a different phone to be safe! These fraudsters can sometimes stay connected and listen out for when you dial your provider, then try to impersonate them. Stay alert!

Got a call from some Asian number, didn't bother picking up. If you get those, just text the number 7726 to report it, they supposedly block the number after that. Better to be safe and not engage.

The call came through the internet and I reckon it’s defo a bank scam from India or Pakistan. Best thing to do is block the number and report it. Also, send a text with the word 'call' to 7726.

Twilio Ireland Limited, where did they get this number from? Seems like they deal with selling numbers mostly to scammers looking to trick folks. They provide either landline or mobile numbers and then pass on a list of numbers to target. So if you get a ring from a number linked to a VoIP provider, chances are you've been added to one of those lists.

Got two calls from this number earlier today. Usually if it's a number I don’t recognise, I just ignore it - most of the time it’s some sort of scam. I never answer or ring back. If it’s important, they’ll leave a voicemail anyway. Also, if you get any dodgy texts, you can report them by sending the message to 7726.

watch out for callers from asia trying to trick you into giving your bank info, don’t trust a word these scammers say, the "company" they mention doesn’t really exist. if people just ignore these calls, they won’t manage to steal any cash. they keep their numbers hidden for a reason. and if you see a number starting with +44, it’s most probably a robocall, not a real landline. also make sure to report any suspicous call to phishing.gov.uk or text DALL to 7726 to help others avoid the scam.

Got a call from some unknown number claiming 900 quid had been taken from my bank, told to "press one for help". Had a look at my account and everything was fine, totally a scam. Blocked the number and reported it. Watch out for these dodgy callers!

I received an unusual call that seemed to be from Vodafone, claiming there was a fantastic offer on the table. They wanted me to fork out £49 now, promising me a 20% discount on my bill for the following year. It felt a bit dodgy, if I'm honest!

My phone showed a number when it started ringing. When I picked up and said 'hello', a recorded voice just said 'goodbye' and then the call ended abruptly.

So, about this number - it rang me right after I missed a call from another suspicious one (+442080595332) which I've seen linked to scams before. Feels like these calls are connected, probably the same bunch trying to squeeze money out of anyone who picks up. Honestly, my suggestion is to just not answer, block these numbers using your phone’s tools, and definitely sign up with the TPS to avoid these pest calls.

And if you get spammy or nasty texts, just forward them to '7726'. Watch out though, clicking any shady links might download malware onto your phone or computer. Also, texting 'CALL' to '7726' with details about suspicious calls can help warn others through your phone provider’s network. Don’t forget to have a word with your MP about these scams too. I recently found out that Twilio Ireland Limited is behind these numbers. They seem to be selling phone numbers, and from what I gather, loads of scammers buy them to trick folks. They offer both cell and landline numbers, then give out lists with active numbers for robocalls and stuff. So basically, if you get a call from a VoIP number linked to them, chances are you've been put on one of their call lists. Proper dodgy business, if you ask me.

BEWARE this lot keep ringing, sending messages, emails and fake letters all the time. Sadly, blocking their numbers doesn't help as they just switch to calling from new ones. I’ve spoken to the police and they told me to report everything to Action Fraud and to shout about it on social media because these sites alone won’t stop these fraudsters. The cops suggest anyone getting these calls and texts should put up a post to warn others and encourage as many people as possible to share it, so folks stay alert. These scumbags have managed to con people out of hundreds of thousands in just the last few days, apparently, so spreading the word is the best defence we’ve got. Knowledge really does fight these horrible criminals.

Got two calls from numbers I didn’t recognise today. I usually avoid answering unknown calls because most of them end up being scams. I just don’t pick up or bother returning the call. If it’s something important, they’ll usually leave a voicemail. Also, if you get suspicious texts, you can report them by sending the details to 7726.

There’s this old trick going around where they promise you 30% off your O2 bill for life. They say they’re passing you on to a supervisor, but it’s actually just the next person in the scam team, probably sitting in some call centre in Mumbai. Then they ask you for a six-digit code that you get in a text from O2, claiming they need it to check your account. When you mention the warning in the message saying not to share that code with anyone, even O2 staff, they brush it off with “It’s fine, just give it to me once.” If you fall for it, they’ll use that code to order an expensive phone on your account, which gets shipped to a PO box they control. After that, you’re left dealing with the mess.

Got a call from some folks claiming to be from a company, trying to snag my bank info. Don’t trust a word these scammers say, they’re just after your cash. No real company behind the name they give you, it’s all fake. If you just hang up and ignore these calls, they can’t steal anything from you. They hide who they are for a reason. If the number begins with +44, it’s not a genuine landline - most likely an automated call. Also, you should report these scams to phishing.gov.uk and text DALL to 7726. Stay safe out there!

This was a total scam from start to finish. They claimed I was owed compensation for PPI from my “bank” - saying it was around £2,550 plus an extra £1,550 in interest. When I mentioned my bank was "Bank of Paris" (which obviously doesn’t exist), they couldn’t react properly. They threw some reference and ID numbers at me, insisting they never ask for bank or card info and that the money was in some kind of digital wallet. Then, I got passed on to a different caller, who I think was Asian. I deliberately gave him the wrong ID and reference numbers, which seemed to throw him off. He then asked for my number to “verify” the info, before giving me other ID numbers that supposedly were correct - but they didn’t match the first ones at all. At one point he said I wasn’t good with technology, then offered to help me get into this wallet. He asked me to put my phone on loudspeaker and download an app called Anydesk from the Play Store. This app would let him remotely access my phone, meaning he could easily nick bank info, passwords, personal details, everything. These con artists are hopeless and need to be stopped. Make sure you report anything like this to the police and the Financial Conduct Authority - it’s phishing and blatant fraud.

Looks like those calls are from Asian numbers again. Don’t pick up if you get one. Just text “CALL” to 7726 and they’ll help block the number for good. It’s the easiest way to stop those annoying calls.
