I received a call today that was absolutely riddled with background chatter, reminiscent of a call centre environment. A woman with a Chinese accent introduced herself as being from BT, discussing issues with our internet connection. This number definitely raises some red flags in terms of safety. The number showed a Scottish code, but after a few moments, a foreign accent came on the line, so I just ended the call.

There was this foreign voice on the line with loads of noise in the background. I ended up calling the bloke a scammer and he snapped back telling me to mind my language. I just hung up on him after that. The whole situation felt pretty dodgy to me.

Had a call from a woman with a Chinese accent claiming to be from BT, saying there was something wrong with our internet. I just hung up straight away without paying her any attention. I reckon this kind of scam could catch out someone who isn’t careful.
