I ignored the call since the number was unfamiliar and I have no contacts up in Edinburgh. Feels good I made that call in the end.

If you get a scam call, make sure to text 7736 and report it. Also, have a look at those shows on BBC1 and Channel 5 about scams - they’re on Monday and Wednesday nights, plus available on iPlayer and My5. They’re definitely worth a watch. The one on BBC is pretty alarming. Honestly, anyone with a bank or Amazon account should see it. If you reckon you’re too clever to fall for scams, you might want to think twice!

This call was really hard to understand, but I think the person said they were from Currys and asked if I use a Samsung or an iPhone. I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent claiming I could get a 30% discount from Vodafone. Sounded dodgy to me, so I didn’t bother continuing the chat - probably some phone scammer trying their luck.

This number has called me a few times over the past few days. Each time I just feed them rubbish info, switching up which network I tell them I use, and it’s funny how they adjust their spiel every time. Total amateurs. Honestly, don’t stress about it - just hang up on them without a second thought! 👍

I got a phone call that lasted about 7 minutes, which was odd since I never share my number with anyone. So, of course, I didn’t pick up. Sounds like one of those scam calls for sure. I quickly looked up the number using Who called me. If a number looks unfamiliar, my advice is to just ignore it and block straight away.

I received a call earlier, and upon picking up, all I heard from their automated message was a single word: "FAREWELL!" It was rather peculiar!

I had a rather peculiar call from an Indian woman who was rather hazy about her affiliation-whether she was with O2 or stated she could be linked with Nano Wire International or Virgin Media. She seemed quite adamant that these entities weren't the same, but when I pressed her on the matter and suggested she might in fact belong to Nano Wire International (and I do apologise in advance if such a company actually exists), she abruptly ended the conversation. Once again, it appears to be a scam masquerading as a UK number.

I wasn't able to answer the phone when it rang, so I thought it best to look up the number. I'm really relieved I did. My mobile identified it as a debt collector, and it had me quite anxious, to be honest.

I received a call from some telemarketers trying to sell me a new phone at a rather tempting 40% discount. I politely declined and ended the call, but to my astonishment, they had the audacity to ring me again! It's safe to say, they’ve really put a damper on my day.

I received a call from someone claiming to be with O2, stating they could give me a 30% discount on my monthly bill. Now, that sounds quite appealing, but the thing is, I’m on a pay-as-you-go plan!

Most of these calls turn out to be dodgy, to put it mildly. I'd advise against taking up any new phone contracts they offer; more often than not, they're just a ruse to con you out of your hard-earned cash. Stay vigilant and don’t fall for it!

Received a call purportedly from a company claiming to represent ‘the world’, trying to sell me a new phone. Turns out it's just another shady Indian scam operation using a UK number to make it look legitimate. Absolute nonsense!

I got a call earlier today from a woman whose speech was completely garbled. It seemed to be related to a mobile phone service, but I couldn't make head nor tail of what she was saying. I ended up hanging up because it was all quite baffling. Supposedly, the call was from Edinburgh!
