This morning my phone rang from this number and it kept going on much longer than the usual spam calls I get. I usually only pick up if I know the number or if they leave a voicemail. Since there was no message left, I looked it up afterwards and found out it was just another scam trying to get through.

Got a call from someone claiming to be O2, saying my number qualified for a 30% discount. They kept rambling something else but talked so fast with a heavy accent that I could barely follow. I told them to slow down ’cause they were speaking way too quickly, but as soon as I did, they just hung up. What seemed odd was they carried on chatting even though the phone contract isn’t under my name, it’s my husband’s. Plus, they never even asked who they were actually speaking to. Strange behaviour, if you ask me!

I got a call that said it was from Vodafone, told me they were offering a 40% discount on my plan. They sent me a code via text and asked me to check it. Everything seemed okay until out of nowhere I received an email asking me to reset my password. That set alarm bells ringing for me, so I just ended the call straight away, felt like a scam to me.

When I informed them that I was actually with EE, they quickly rectified themselves, insisting they were referring to EE after all. Then, I realised my blunder, as my husband does indeed use EE, while I'm on O2. They assured me O2 was also included in the deal. It all felt rather dubious! I've decided to block the number. I received a call at 11:20 on the 6th of December 2023. The gentleman claimed to be Peter from O2, but his accent was distinctly Asian. I straight away sensed something was off, confronted him about being a scammer, and promptly ended the call.

I happened to miss this call while I was otherwise occupied in the loo... So, I took to this site to investigate. Rather than simply blocking the number, I've decided to add it to my spam list, complete with a ringtone of that classic Lost In Space robot blaring, "Do not touch it!" and "It's hazardous!" At least this way, I can have a good chuckle whenever they ring me!
