I caught the sound of some rather intense breathing, and then they requested that I give their ring a good lick.

This number has been ringing me quite a few times. The bloke on the other end somehow knows my name, but I have no idea who he is. He’s called me from various numbers, which I’ve noted down now. Most calls come in the afternoon, though he even rang on a Saturday once. The voice sounds familiar to me so I always just hang up straight away. Still, it’s pretty unsettling and makes me feel uneasy. I reckon he’s figured out how to spoof the caller IDs.

Got a call earlier but they didn’t bother leaving a voicemail, so it probably wasn’t anything urgent. The number doesn’t ring any bells, so I’m guessing it was either some annoying telemarketer or one of those dodgy scam calls. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Had a dodgy call from someone claiming I’d been in a car crash recently. Problem is, I don’t even own a car! I spent ages spinning a tale, in a posh English accent, about a wonderful vehicle getting T-boned by a guy from a nearby laundry - made the story as ridiculous as I could. After a bit, he cottoned on that I was winding him up and just hung up. Felt pretty good, if you ask me!

I asked the bloke calling me what he was up to, and instead of a proper answer, he went on about my job and called me "one of those stockpilers who thinks they're above everyone else." Not exactly the pinnacle of professionalism, is it?

Watch out, don’t trust those green comments - they’re just scams preying on folks who are already struggling right now. These people are just the worst, really trying to take advantage when we’re all going through tough times. Such terrible behaviour from a bunch of them.

Honestly, I don’t get why people say this is a rip-off. They rang me up and clearly went through everything step by step. I figured, what’s the harm in giving them my details? So I went ahead with it, and about a month and a half later, a cheque for £3400 turned up at my house. With everything happening because of the Coronavirus, it’s been a real lifesaver for me!

Got a call from someone claiming to be about a road accident in the last two and a half years (pretty oddly specific, right?) but they never asked for anyone by name. So, how could they be sure it wasn’t someone else in my house involved? The person had an English accent and when I asked which accident and insurer they were on about, they just hung up. I think you can guess what’s going on here.
