Got a call from this number earlier, no one said a word when I picked up, then they just hung up right away, definitely seems like some sort of scam.

Somebody called saying they’d do a free home insulation inspection and check for any damp problems. When I asked where they got my number from, they didn’t answer. Then I asked which postcode they were working in, cos they said they were calling everyone nearby. Still no reply, then they just hung up on me.

So, the person on the phone said she was from some loft insulation company, but her thick Scottish accent and fast talking made it really hard to follow. She asked what kind of house I had and if I was under 75! Then she went on about me qualifying for a free loft insulation inspection and that someone would call me to arrange it. I started feeling a bit iffy about the whole thing, so I hung up and blocked the number. A few minutes later, I got a call from an unknown mobile number, which I ignored. After looking it up here, I blocked that one too. Just be cautious out there!

Picked up the phone and they asked if I was speaking to Mrs Hall. Told them she passed away in March, then they asked if I was Mr Hall. When I said no, they just hung up. Had about four scam calls like this in the past couple of days, so I’ve blocked every one of those numbers.

I received a call from a woman representing an energy firm. Naturally, I requested their website details only to discover they had none. She was pushing loft insulation services. Shortly after, another call came through from a mobile number seeking additional information. This time, it was a rather rude chap on the other end. He seemed quite irritated when I wouldn't disclose how many people reside at my place. He kept questioning me about my reluctance! I reiterated that he didn’t require that information. Despite my insistence, he continued to press me and then misidentified my address completely. He went on to ask for my actual address, which I declined to provide. After a bit of back and forth, he had the audacity to hang up while still trying to have the final say!

I received a call from a woman with a Scottish accent who dove right into a conversation about funding and my eligibility for it. She then inquired whether I was the homeowner. When I pressed her on how she'd obtained my number, she claims it's all accessible on the internet. I mentioned that I’m on the Telephone Preference Service, and just like that, she cut the line.
