It’s quite clear this is a VOIP caller; there’s that unmistakable lag when you pick up, followed by a peculiar double chime sound. The number itself appears to be non-existent, which suggests some dodgy practices with caller ID. Odds are, this is just another scammer trying their luck with cold calls.

I recently received a call from this number, claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse, trying to persuade me with half-price phone offers. I didn’t hesitate to end the call!

Concerning phone upgrades, I received a call from someone claiming to be with Currys PC World. However, it didn’t seem quite genuine to me. Their English was subpar, and the line was quite dodgy. I have a strong suspicion it was an attempt at scamming me.
