Got a few calls from number 0131 367 0346, seems like Edinburgh based. The person on the phone didn’t sound Scottish or even like they were from the UK or Europe, their English was pretty bad. Same caller kept ringing me up, insistin I was owed some kinda refund! Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

Some bloke rang me saying he was from the government about PPI. He mentioned if I switched my life cover to funeral cover, I could get about £3000-£4000 back. He then tried to patch me through to another team but told me not to mention the PPI or money chat and just agree to the plan. He promised a cheque in less than 90 days. When the call didn't go through, he said someone else would call me back. I ignored their calls after that ’cos it smelled fishy. The number kept ringing me non-stop. Be careful, they had loads of my info including my email and DOB. Definitely a scam!

I've looked up this number and it doesn't seem to be linked to any real phone line, so it's most likely a scam. If you've already shared any personal info with them, I’d recommend reporting it to Action Fraud straight away. Just so everyone knows, the government isn’t behind PPI claims or anything like that - it’s definitely a con. Be careful out there!

Strange, isn't it? I really can't tell if it's a dodgy call or something legit. There might be some perks, but I've got no ties to anything governmental-now or in the past. I've decided to just ignore it and have blocked the number.
