They told me there was an issue with my broadband and phone line and threatened to cut them off because of ‘suspicious behaviour’. They asked me to press 1 to talk to one of their ‘managers’, but I just hung up straight away. Definitely seems like a scam to me. BT usually get in touch by email if there’s any problem with my account.

Got a call claiming to be Barclaycard fraud team saying there was a £900 charge in Malta. They tried to make me install an app that would make me approve every card payment before it went through. When I refused to download the app, they got quite hostile and said they’d let the £900 go through and I wouldn’t get it refunded. I ended the call immediately, rang Barclaycard’s fraud department directly, blocked my card, and then reported everything to the fraud squad at Scotland Police.
