I tried calling back but no one picked up. Before that, I had a few calls from people pretending to be from Microsoft, telling me there was something wrong with my computer hardware. They kept pushing me to let them get into my PC, real persistent. In the end, I just hung up on them.

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent claiming my computer was full of viruses and badly infected. I’ve got Norton virus protection that's fully updated, so I knew right away it was rubbish. Definitely a scam, don’t waste your time chatting to them!

A call showed up with an Edinburgh number, so I picked up. The person claimed to be from Microsoft and said my PC had reported multiple errors recently. They insisted since I was on some list, they needed to check my computer and “fix” the issues. I passed the call to my husband, who quickly spotted it was a scam. He told me money had been stolen from our bank after dealing with them. The caller ID was 02080779247, and the bloke introduced himself as Mark Fernandez with ID WT0206. This guy kept pushing that we’d purchased some sort of software giving scammers access to our accounts, yet refused to say who was behind it. When my husband refused any further cooperation, the caller started threatening legal action and said he’d refer us to their legal department. In the end, the bloke hung up because we wouldn’t let him access our PC while he was on the line. Definitely dodgy and not to be trusted!

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent claiming there was an issue with Microsoft. I played along and told him I couldn’t get the internet to work on my Kenwood Chef. He just hung up straight away. Sometimes you have to outsmart these scammers!

I got a call from someone saying my windows PC had issues. I played along for some time, listening to their "fix" instructions. But then I mentioned I’m on an iMac and use a different keyboard. The bloke quickly changed his story and then just hung up on me.

Got called by them like 7 times just today. I’m tempted to give them a piece of my mind but if you pick up, you’re basically letting them know your number’s real. So, best not to answer at all. Also, I’m sure Microsoft wouldn’t ring you up directly about any windows issues, even if your copy wasn’t legit! Usually, you’d get some kind of official letter from their lawyers first. And FYI, the copies of Windows I use came straight from the shops when I bought my computers!

I got a call from a guy with an Asian accent saying my windows laptop was messed up and needed fixing. I decided to humour him for a bit. He told me to switch on my laptop and hit control + R, asked me what popped up in a little box, then told me to type some random letters and numbers. When I started asking him what the hell he was up to, he got all annoyed and kept saying I was wasting his time. Pretty clear it was a total scam, haha.

Got called by some bloke named Eric with an Asian accent claiming he was from Microsoft - total con job if you ask me. Ended up having a laugh with him before he tried to convince me I was using an Apple computer, which made me chuckle. Fine by me, messing about and wasting their time a bit!

Thing is, I was actually shopping in Morrison's at that exact moment. It's clear it was some sort of scam. Owner’s listed as ‘gh gbcarrier: (c&w)’, if that helps. Just beware if you get a call like this.
