I thought it rather fortuitous that he rang, as I've been inundated with calls from various individuals posing as TalkTalk representatives, all of whom seemed to be nothing more than con artists trying to bamboozle me. I asked him if he could offer any advice on handling these pesky nuisances. He hesitated for a tick, then asked if I’d like his ID number. I politely declined and, on impulse, requested my “personal TalkTalk password” - an invention on the spot, mind you. He hesitated yet again before promptly rattling off a six-digit figure. I pointed out that it was not the correct password and queried if he might be a fraudster himself.
