I received this number from an automated message when I tried to contact Aegon. Every time I ring, I either get a busy tone or it disconnects after a short while. It’s quite baffling - I’m left wondering if this is even related to Aegon! #sooddball

I received a call from a number with an Edinburgh area code, but I decided not to pick up. Mere moments later, they tried again. Curious, I answered, but all I got was silence accompanied by some sort of hold music. I tried speaking, hoping for a response, but there was nothing, so I hung up in frustration. Since I have absolutely no acquaintances in Scotland, I’ve now blocked this number outright. Seems likely it was just a fishing expedition to verify if my number is active, probably so they can sell it off to other unwanted callers down the line.
