I got a call from a lady claiming she was from the Border Control Force and mentioned that Chinese customs supposedly reached out to her a couple of weeks ago or something like that. She said her name was Officer Jones. Definitely a scam, don’t believe it.

Had a missed call from this number 0131 333 4840 so I called back. A woman answered but her English was really hard to follow, then she passed the phone to her husband who said they didn’t call me at all. We ended up having a bit of a row. Feels like it might be a scam.

Absolute nonsense about a car crash. Honestly, I just had to laugh. They got all worked up over nothing. Proper mad, shouting, 'What’s so funny? Why you laughing?' Then they started cussing and slammed the phone down! 😂

Well, looks like we finally cracked it!! Too bad you can’t ring him back, he seriously oughta be checked properly. Total muppet. (In case it wasn’t clear, this bloke was anything but pleasant. Actually, scratch that, he was a nightmare. If I had to guess, I’d say some lazy bugger on benefits is badly trying to pull a scam just to fund their dodgy habits.)

Had the name and phone number, but that was about it. Pretty sure the so-called "staff" at this "company" wouldn't even know basics. Honestly, quite amazed they managed to use a phone without bungling it completely.

Caller claimed they were from some motor industry organisation, saying I supposedly reported an accident. They've rung me multiple times over quite a few days now.

Just had the same thing happen, they said I'd been in an accident. I told them flat out it’s obviously a scam and asked who they were, said I’d be reporting them to Trading Standards, then hung up quick sharp. She sounded like she had a Scouse accent too, just like someone else mentioned here.

I brought up data protection laws and called her out for lying, but she just talked over me saying I was mistaken. I hung up, but she kept ringing back. I had no choice but to block her.

Somebody called me saying they were from Direct Response about a car crash I'd apparently been in and a claim I supposedly made. I asked them which accident they meant and for the claim number since every claim has one, but as soon as I questioned them, they just hung up on me. Blocked the number straight away.

I told them - not on this number, it’s not his phone. Then they just hung up. Proper annoying and pushy. Honestly, this kind of behaviour should be reported.

A woman called "Carol" with a Liverpool accent, saying she was from Direct Response and working with the Motor Insurance Bureau, asked for me by name. When I questioned where she found my number, she just stayed silent. She then asked if I’d had any accidents in the past two and a half years. I said “which one?” but she couldn’t answer because it was clearly a scam. I told her to take my info off their list and when I asked for their Data Controller's contact, she just hung up on me.

When I mentioned she was saying both and that sounded a bit mixed up, she just told me I didn’t understand what I was talking about. I’ve never been in an accident and I’m an Advanced Driver myself.
