They continued to press the issue, even after I mentioned that I was awaiting an important call from the hospital-a legitimate reason, I assure you! They suggested that I could simply pause their call, which felt quite inconsiderate.

Two comments down I’ve shared some simple steps to put an end to these annoying scams. If all the folks in the UK who get these scam calls and texts daily actually followed them, there’d be a serious push from both the cops and government to tackle the problem. You can’t just expect everyone else to sort it out for you. It doesn’t take ages at all. I even bookmarked the Action Fraud site and sent my MP an email - got quite the reply too! But honestly, it’s no use if only I’m bothered.

They wanted to know my provider, how long my policy lasted, and what I paid monthly. They kept pushing, even though they said I should contact my insurer myself if I wanted to talk about it. I had to just end the call to get off the phone.

I told him straight up I knew he was a scammer and that he should find something better to do with his time, then I hung up. Blocked the number too. This is the second time this week I’ve had the exact same nonsense - first it was a woman with the same accent and the exact same lines. Proper annoying!
