Really strong foreign accent, he just couldn’t get "Sue" right - kept saying Suuuu!!! Claimed he wasn’t trying to sell anything, just needed a couple minutes for some Market Research - classic trick to dodge cold call rules!!

Got a phone call off a bloke with an Asian accent who said his name was Mark and that he was from Nationwide. He mentioned my postcode but went quiet and hung up when I asked what the call was about. Tried ringing back the number and it just went to an answerphone for AO.com. Bit suspicious if you ask me.

Someone called asking if I'd been in a car crash. I played along and said yes cause I suspected it was a scam (better me than someone more gullible!). Then they put me through to a "senior claims advisor". When I asked how they got the info, they said the "road traffic bureau". I told them that's not real. They just hung up! Couldn't ring the number back either. Lesson here: if you can, waste these scammers' time wherever possible.
