At 12:39 today, 17th June, I got a call from 0131 280 9648 while I was just about to have my lunch. The answering machine kicked in, and I heard a voice telling me to 'press number 1'. I didn’t press anything, seeing as I’ve got family in Edinburgh, so I decided to ring the number back. No luck though - it said the number wasn’t recognised. Since the lockdown restrictions have eased a bit, these scammers are starting to pop up again. It’s pretty annoying, especially when you’re older, living alone, and hoping it’s one of your kids ringing you.
