Got these scammer lot ringing me up 4 times this week, all asking for my national insurance number like it's some sort of proof I haven't claimed. Chatted with my solicitor about it and they told me to just ignore 'em. So I cancelled the dodgy claim and now sorting it out the right way with my legal folks.

I received a call from what appeared to be a local Edinburgh number, so I thought I’d answer. On the other end was a rather pushy individual claiming to represent a legal firm - a name that meant nothing to me. They were adamantly insisting that I had reported a car accident to the police, which is quite absurd as I don’t even own a vehicle. I made this clear to them, and yet they seemed utterly unwilling to take my word for it, continuously insisting, “But Rachel…” in a voice that only got louder. Eventually, I had to hang up. I was absolutely livid, as I’m currently inundated with work, my father is unwell in hospital, and I recently moved house - hardly the ideal time for unwelcome interruptions. I initially thought it might be something relevant to my new place or my father’s situation, given the local area code. However, the caller had a distinct accent from Southeast England, which raised my suspicions about their true origin. It feels like a rather shady tactic to elicit a response.

When I checked Companies House, I found several firms called RK Legal and RK Legal Services, but they all appear to be shut down. The website for RK Legal Services, which is what the caller said they represented, only lists contact details in Bratislava. From what I can tell, this definitely looks like a scam.

Got a call from 01748 472910 about an accident supposedly involving me. I asked the caller for their name again - they said Richmond Knightley. Then they said they got my details from the National Accident Database. I asked who actually gave them my info, but they refused to say, citing the Data Protection Act. That didn’t seem right to me, since it shouldn’t stop them giving me more info. After that, they just ended the call.

I picked up since the area code’s from around here. Some girl was askin’ for Nicola, which ain’t me, so I said it was the wrong number. Then she went on askin if I was really sure! I’ve gone by this name for 43 years and had this phone for more than a decade, so yes definitely sure. Ended the call before she could say anything else and after seeing what others said, I’ve blocked the number now!!

A woman rang me from a Weston Super Mare number (01934 area code) on my mobile, which i never share, asking about a recent crash and if I was hurt. I told her there was no injury and warned her she was pushing fraud. She soon got rude so I ended the call. I've reported them to the TPS since I’m on the Do Not Call list, and TPS said the company is called RICHMOND KNIGHTLEY LEGAL SERVICES. They’ve been notified and have 14 days to reply. We really need to report dodgy firms like this more often.

A woman with a thick Liverpool accent called me up two times today. She was really evasive and wouldn't share much info except it had something to do with a small accident that I definitely haven’t been in. On the second ring, she mentioned she was from ‘Richard Knightly Legal Services’. Both times, as soon as I asked for more details, she just cut me off and hung up. Got a cold call from some so-called national accident register (which is totally made up btw) ambulance chaser. They were going on about “an accident I’d recently reported”. I asked the woman for the exact date of the accident and she just said “within the last 3 years”. I pressed her, said “sure, but you gotta have the specific date - what is it?” She snapped back quite rude, saying “I just told you, within the last 3 years.” I’ve gone ahead and blocked that number now.
