I received a call about a car accident I’ve never even been involved in! This lot of con artists ought to face consequences for their deceitful schemes. They attempted to pilfer my banking information, claiming I was entitled to compensation for some fictional mishap. It’s outrageous!

Loads of folks don’t realise that when you register on some websites, they ask for your phone number and that’s how these businesses end up with your digits. I’d recommend checking your inbox and unsubscribing from any dodgy emails or spam you get. That might help a bit.

Got a call from DVA? Legal stuff, sounded like he had an English accent. Said I was due cash from an old car crash. Seemed like a decent bloke at first!!! But when I asked about my car or insurance, he couldn’t give me any answers and just ended the call! Watch out for this one!

Got calls from someone with an Indian accent about accident claims. It’s really frustrating because my wife and I went through a terrible car crash back in 2001, and she actually died twice before they brought her back. We’re both on the TPS list but it clearly doesn’t stop these calls.

DO NOT ANSWER THIS NUMBER! This caller claims I had an ‘accident’ in the past 3 years and tries to get me to sign up for compensation. When I played along and said I’d had 2 accidents, they couldn’t provide any specific dates. They just kept saying they’d help me claim through lawyers. Eventually, they handed me over to a ‘manager’ who repeated the same thing, still not able to give a single date despite me asking several times. Seems like a total scam. Best to just block them straight away!

Got a call from 0131 202 4555 claiming to be some sort of legal firm - the typical rubbish about car accident claims. I told them to take me off their cold call list and never ring me again. They just said "I will". When I insisted they shouldn’t and warned about reporting them, they kept replying with "I will" twice more.

Got a scam call about some car crash supposedly. I pretended to go along with it for a bit - asked “how on earth did you get my number?” They went quiet. I repeated “It’s a simple question - how did you get my number?” The caller just kept pushing about the accident. Asked again where they got their info, they said from a road traffic report. Then I asked for details like date and location of the crash, but the caller just kept talking over me. When I said that info should be in the report already, so why ask me, they just ended the call.

I got a call from someone saying they wanted to help with the crash I had, but then admitted they wasn't even driving, just a passenger. I told him I'd put the phone down where he could chat to the rubbish he was spouting. Anyone putting green is probably part of the con.

I keep receiving calls from this number and others that look almost the same, just the last digit is different. Every time I answer, no one's there, so I’m pretty sure it’s some kind of auto dialler. Even though it’s a local landline, I really doubt the call is really from that number, and I reckon if you try to call back, it could rack up loads of charges. I've started blocking the number now. I'd be really cautious if you get calls like these.
