I received a rather unexpected call from a bloke about the tenancy deposit scheme. He had quite a pronounced Indian accent and, to my surprise, referred to me by the wrong name. Given that it was an unsolicited call, I thought it best to end the conversation there.

Got a call about some tenancy deposit thing and he used my previous surname straight away, so I was pretty suspicious. It was an Indian bloke who kept asking if I could hear him properly. When I told him I wasn’t interested and tried to speak, he just talked over me. Ended up hanging up on him.

someone rang and said my washing machine's insurance was no longer valid and asked for my bank info to update it, seemed suspicious to me.

feeling a bit uneasy they’re keeping my yes answers. this bloke just rang and said hello, i answered hello back. then he asked if i could hear him, i said yes. he then said he’d ring me later and just hung up. so now he’s got my number and a clip of me saying yes. with banks and stuff going digital, what if they use this audio stuff for sneaky things? on top of that, i just got dumped again!

Got calls from this number loads of times, always saying they're with the motor insurance bureau which sounds like a total load of rubbish to me. They're just hassling people trying to drum up business no one asked for. If this lot rings you, best to just steer clear entirely.
