Had a couple of calls earlier today, and they never even bothered to check who I was. All they kept pushing was for me to sign into my online account... no chance in hell!

Today I got two calls from this number, a person with an Indian accent told me there was an issue with my BT internet account. They hung on until I said my name, then tried to repeat it but clearly got it wrong because they hadn’t caught it properly. Sounds like a scam to me!

Got a call from this number and the person said they were from BT. The caller, who sounded like they were from India or somewhere in East Asia, told me my internet was at risk. I told them I don’t even have internet connected to the phone number they called, and they hung up straight away. I checked the number that called me using BT’s 1471 service and saw it’s got the 01309 code, which is Forres up in northern Scotland. What worried me was that they seemed to know my full name, and also, a few months earlier, I had spoken with BT’s support team based in India about a discount on my landline since I don’t use internet.
