I received a rather dubious call on the 14th of July, 2023, from a character purporting to be representing Domestic and General. They were rambling on about some sort of discount for a washing machine insurance policy that I don’t even hold! I decided to play along for a bit, tossing in some nonsensical chatter as I patiently awaited the inevitable moment they would attempt to fish for my bank details. Just when I was about to unleash a barrage of Hindi expletives, the line went dead. Such a shame; I was just beginning to relish the exchange! Oddly enough, they had my name and address on hand-how on earth did they come by that information?

I called him out as a scammer and a fibber, and he fired back, calling me names and bizarrely blaming me for invading India - long before I was even born! Definitely a scam attempt.
