Over the past couple of days, I’ve been getting a load of random calls that I didn’t ask for. My phone usually shows these as either ‘international’ or ‘no number shown’, but when I checked, they’re all from the UK. Here are some of the numbers: 01307068246 from Angus, Scotland, 01542344421 in Keith up in N.E. Scotland, 01204196776 out of Bolton, and 01288815406 which is near Bude in N.E. Cornwall. I don’t answer anymore, but a while back I picked up and it was all automated messages making a fuss about my data being stolen or my internet being hacked, trying to scare you into following some dodgy steps. I never fall for it and just hang up, then block the number. They call back on a different one about an hour later, so I block that too. Usually, after a few rounds of this over a few days, they seem to give up for a couple of months, only to come back with more cold calls. It’s a right pain.
