I just got a call like this, where I pressed 1 and ended up chatting to a guy saying my internet IP had been hacked. He claimed to be a BT engineer, even gave me his name, staff ID, and a phone number 01793569631, saying he was calling from their London office. He asked me to open my laptop or computer, but I told him I couldn’t do that. Then he said he’d ring back in about an hour or whenever suited me best. When I started asking more questions, he just hung up. I rang BT on their 0800 line and the person there told me it definitely sounded like a scam.

Once got a call like this, it was some robot woman saying my internet was at risk and about to get cut off. She said to press 1 to get through to BT but I dont even have BT. Pretty sure its a trick to steal your info or hack into your PC. Ignored and blocked straight away.
