4 yearsEarlier today, I received a call from a chap identifying himself as Kevin. He rang from a number I didn’t recognise and immediately began probing me about my energy supplier. To my surprise, he claimed to have a significantly better offer and wanted to sort it out there and then over the phone. Now, I’m aware that BT, the company he claimed to represent, doesn’t operate in this manner, which leads me to believe this fellow is trying to pull a fast one. It certainly feels like a scam to me!KevinBT8 yearsEarlier this week, the bloke called himself "Kevin". Today, who knows what name he used, but he asked for my manager. I replied, "That's me, what can I do for you?". He claimed to be from "your electricity supplier" or something like that. I asked him, "Right, which company exactly are you with then?" After a brief pause (probably picking a random name), he went with British Gas, but they don’t supply our electricity. Honestly, I wish our office phones showed Caller ID - it’d save so much hassle.Kevin8 yearsGot a call from a bloke claiming to be from EON, wanting to sort out a contract renewal. Thing is, we ain't got any contract with EON! I kept telling him that but he just got all annoyed and moody about it.EON8 yearsSo they’ve been ringing me the past few days now, always the same story. First up, a woman with an Indian accent, then she handed me over to a bloke. They claimed to be from "SSE" trying to renew my electricity contract. They asked me to verify my email first. I kept them chatting for over 6 minutes before they suddenly hung up on me! Pretty sure it’s a scam.8 yearsThis number has been calling me for weeks claiming to be from Eon. We do have an Eon contract, but it’s got over two years left on it. I just end the call straight away now. I’m about to block this number on my new phone system!Eon8 yearsLoads of calls from this lot have been driving me mental, I’ve even shouted at them just to get them to leave me alone. They claim they’re from Eon and want to send documents for some contract renewal. It’s like they never quit! Took one look and knew it was a total con, just like the other stories here.JasonBritish Gas8 yearsFor weeks now, I've been getting calls from a guy claiming to be from Dual Energy, saying my contract's about to end and asking for my bank details. It's clearly a total scam! He phoned me a few times just today too. I told him I wasn’t convinced and asked if he really thought I was daft. He just replied, "Alright ma'am, thank you very much," with this thick Indian accent before I hung up. Kevin? Yeah, right! :DKevinEon8 yearsFor the past few days, I've had this bloke ringing me up, saying he's from E-On and wants to send a renewal letter. He gave the name John, sounded like he might be from India or somewhere similar. I've told him multiple times we've already cancelled. Luckily, GDPR’s got my back. I asked him for his GDPR details and to put me through to his GDPR officer. After that, he just ended the call.E - OnJohnIndia8 yearsGot loads of calls from the same bloke with an Indian accent, like 5 times today and 4 times yesterday.
