The gentleman on the line began by inquiring if I recalled enrolling in a scheme aimed at curbing unwanted telemarketing calls and whether it was functioning as intended. I promptly informed him that, clearly, it wasn’t doing the trick since I still get an overwhelming number of them! He went on to claim that most of these calls are international in nature, and that they could enhance their software to prevent them entirely-but there would be a one-time charge of £59 for this service. I firmly stated that I had no intention of paying for such a scheme. He then remarked that I had made a payment the previous year, which I utterly doubt. When I pressed him on whether he had access to my bank details for this supposed payment, he abruptly ended the call.
