Just received a phone call around half past four this afternoon. A chap on the line asked for me by name, but he rattled off the company name so quickly that I didn’t quite catch it. He inquired whether I was incurring any charges for my bank account. When I replied 'no', he seemed taken aback, saying, "Oh, but I have it noted here that you do." I insisted, "No, I don’t," and he pressed, "Are you absolutely sure?" At that point, I decided to end the call. Ironically, I do pay a fee! It’s concerning how effortlessly someone could fall into a trap like that. He had my name and number, and I could have easily divulged my bank’s name without thinking.
