This phone number belongs to a scammer based in India. These fraudsters see the UK as an easy target, taking advantage of innocent folks and ripping them off. Because of the way Thatcher’s policies let loose, these numbers get sold or rented in bulk to foreign con artists who bombard us with annoying calls. A proper government here would put a stop to it by tightening control over who can assign phone numbers, but none of the governments - Tory or New Labour - seem bothered since they’re as crooked as the scammers themselves.

Somebody called me saying I owed money but then they asked how much I supposedly owed. I said, "Well, you’re the one saying I owe something, so you should know." Then they said, "No, you’re not actually in debt," and just ended the call. Weird experience!
