Sadly, you can't report scams directly through the police’s 'Action Fraud' website anymore - they've shut that down, probably to save money. Maybe raise this issue with your local MP. Got a call out of the blue about some sort of will and funeral plan services. Kinda felt like a sales pitch but they were pretty polite. Not sure if I’ll be needing that anytime soon but they sure were pushing it. Could be handy info for some though, just wasn’t for me.

From what I’ve seen in the feedback, it’s either some dodgy door and window job, a driveway scam, or something about will writing. I even left a message on their answering machine but no reply at all 🤷‍♂️. In the end, I just blocked the number!

When they call, try asking for their business number and then you can search it online. It often shows the registered address and the directors involved. Pretty interesting to see sometimes. Most times, they hang up straight away when you ask for that info!

Totally a scam. Got a call from someone saying they were from “Windows and Doors.” They wanted me to verify if I owned the property. When I asked which property they were talking about, they just launched into some rehearsed spiel about my area qualifying for a grant. After I pressed a few times asking which postcode exactly, they just cut me off. Definitely not legit.

Got a call from 01302 492871 early this morning and it woke me right up, which annoyed me because the line just cut off straight away. Naturally, I decided to check the number. Nothing suspicious popped up. I used 1471 to check the last caller then called the number back. A recorded voice said they were telemarketers pushing will writing services. Yeah, no thanks, I’m not keen on random people calling me about stuff like that! It’s none of their business at all!

I had a call from this number - it turned out to be a company dealing with windows. I told the lady, who sounded rather chirpy, that I wasn’t interested in replacing my windows. She persisted, attempting to schedule a callback with a salesman. I reiterated that I wasn't keen on a callback, and then she had the cheek to ask for my name and age! At that point, I’d had enough, so I hung up and promptly blocked the number.

0130 249 2871 gave our home phone a bell. The call was directed to the answerphone but no message was left. It’s a number from Doncaster. We’re registered with the Telephone Preference Service and also have Call Protect activated, yet that didn’t deter them from calling us. Quite frustrating, really!
