I've had this happen too - the phone just rings a couple of times and then they cut off. It's odd because the call first has to get past BT Call Guardian, which makes callers identify themselves before the phone actually rings here.
Honestly, I can't help but wonder if it's someone trying to find out where I am, like the DWP or even the police, since I’ve gotten this feeling that I might be under some sort of watch.
For the record, I’ve done nothing wrong.

Got a call from 01302391488, some woman claiming to be from a wine company. As soon as I told her I don’t drink, she just said thanks and hung up straight away. Proper weird.

Got a call from some wine firm thanking me for completing a survey. Turns out, they want to send someone round to my place with some wine, hoping I get some mates over so they can try and flog it. I told them I’m not interested and that my number’s on the TPS. Honestly, I reckon the so-called survey was just a ploy; I’m pretty cautious about what I reply to and, let’s be honest, I don’t even drink the stuff, so no way I’d waste time on that survey in the first place.

I got a call from someone looking for my late son-in-law. I've had this number for quite a while, probably picked it up after he passed. When I asked why they were calling and who it was, they just hung up on me. Then, every time I tried to ring back, the line was always busy. Does anyone know who these people might be?
