I received a phone call from someone who claimed to be representing a mobile phone store. I’ve got to say, it felt like a team of scammers with thick Indian accents trying their luck! I've promptly blocked the number!

Got a missed call from 01299 533020, looks like a UK one. I looked it up and turns out I dodged a bullet by not answering. No clue how these scammers got hold of my phone number, but since I'm with Vodafone, I wouldn't rule out someone working there selling number lists. Plus, I've used my phone for a few shopping sites, so maybe that's where it leaked from. Either way, I’m marking that number as spam for sure.

This guy claimed he was calling from Mobile Phone Centre but the moment I asked him what the call was about, he just ended it. You could hear all the chatter in the background like it was some call centre or something.

The voice on the line seemed to be from a call centre, with a woman speaking in an Indian accent. When I picked up, she was chatting away with someone else in the background. She ended up just hanging up on me.
