Got a call on my landline earlier, wasn't expecting it. It wasn’t on my contacts so I didn’t pick up. Lovely start to the day, more calls already!

This number, along with a few others that only differ by the last digit, has been calling me quite a bit recently so I finally picked up. I’m pretty sure it’s some kind of scam or, if I’m feeling generous, just annoying telemarketing. The person on the line said she was "Sarah from Capital Connect" and started talking about sending me details on whisky choices. Thing is, I’ve never looked into whisky or heard of that company before. I’ve since blocked the number.

Some woman claimed to be from Capital Connect, I told her straight up she was a scammer and to buzz off, but she kept on with her nonsense. In the end, I just slammed the phone down. Honestly, how do these lot sleep at night, acting like it’s just another day’s work?

Right after I answered, some robot voice just went "thanks for taking part in our survey, goodbye" and then the line got disconnected. I hadn't even said a word or made a sound. I just blocked the number and marked it as spam straight away.
