I received a call claiming that my Amazon Prime subscription was up for renewal, and they mentioned a charge of £79.99. The twist? I don't even have an Amazon Prime account! So, I decided to reach out to Amazon directly, and they confirmed that they hadn’t contacted me at all. The caller instructed that if I wanted to cancel this 'membership', I should press 1 to connect with a manager. The chap on the other end had a distinctly Asian accent, but when I asked for assistance, he merely said there was nothing he could do and that I needed to sort it out online. Quite the dodgy business, if you ask me!
