6 yearsI received a rather dubious call from an Indian chap who purported to represent BT. He claimed that our router had been issuing alarming alerts over the prior days and proceeded to inquire whether we had shared our password with anyone. He prodded me to inspect the lights on the router and count the number of devices connected - all classic ploys of a scam artist. Curiously enough, he was unable to provide our BT account number or surname, insisting he hadn’t been given that information. Then, he requested that I access a laptop or computer. At this point, I was thoroughly unimpressed with his ruse, so I told him to take a hike and hung up.
