In the last 48 hours, I've had several calls from this particular number. Each time, I’m met with a recorded message delivered in a peculiar American accent, claiming that my Amazon Prime subscription is set to automatically renew. It goes on to say that if I wish to chat with an advisor, I should hit "1" on my phone. The thing is, neither I nor any of my relatives actually hold an Amazon Prime account. I can’t shake the feeling that pressing "1" might whisk me away to some exorbitantly priced hotline, hence, I’ve chosen to simply hang up each time.
