I got a call from someone who said it was about an NHS research related to the meds I’m currently on.

Somebody rang up saying they were from BT and told me my internet was slow because loads of people were connected. They said they could fix it by having me run a command on my PC to let them get in. I was shuffled between a woman with an Indian accent and a bloke claiming to be her manager. Both said they were based in London. In the end, they got fed up when I pretended not to understand and ignored what they asked me to do. At least that meant they couldn’t waste time trying to trick the next person!

Somebody rang me saying they were from BT, saying my internet was slow cause loads of devices were connected. They wanted me to run a command on my PC so they could “fix” it by removing IPs. I got shuffled between a woman with an Indian accent and a bloke who said he was her manager. Both insisted they were calling from London. I just pretended not to understand and didn’t do what they asked. Eventually, they gave up - guess I wasted their time so they couldn’t try it on someone else!

This mornin I got a call from a number almost the same, but it finished with 043. The bloke claimed he was callin from Microsoft. I told him I don’t own any computer or laptop. Then I asked him to remove me from their list since I've had plenty of calls about my supposed Microsoft device. He just snapped at me to be quiet and pay attention. Proper rude bloke!

This morning, I got a call from 01297 824065 claiming to be from Microsoft. They knew my name and even my address, which seemed odd. I’ve never dealt with Microsoft before, and if there was a real problem, I’d expect an email or some kind of official alert, not a phone call. I also run McAfee on my computer. The caller said hackers had gotten into my laptop and warned that Microsoft would block it and any other devices in my home if I didn’t act immediately. They were quite pushy and kept insisting I needed to do something right away. The person sounded fairly composed and sensible but refused to answer some of my questions, which made me suspicious it was all a scam. I looked up the number on a UK site called Who Calls Me and saw it’s been reported for various scams.

Got a call earlier saying it was from Vodafone with some 40% discount deal. I asked the guy to confirm a few details about me, which he couldn't do properly. Knew pretty quick it was a scam, but decided to mess with him a bit so he wouldn’t have enough time to trick others. Told him I’d report the number to Vodafone, and he got all defensive, started shouting at me, then yelled "bye" before hanging up. It was definitely a scam call.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent on my phone. She was talking about some so-called "upgrade" to my contract. Whenever I told her I wasn’t bothered, she kept interrupting with “Listen, listen!” and pushed to change my mind. Totally felt like a scam to me.
