I got a call from someone pretending to be BT tech support, but with a bit of a different approach this time. Instead of the standard story about the event viewer, they told me to use the netstat command, saying the weird foreign IPs showed my BT line was hacked. Then they pushed to get me to open TeamViewer so they could take control, probably to plant malware and nick data. I humoured them for half an hour before they got annoyed, accusing me of wasting their time. Well, that’s exactly what I wanted!

Got a voicemail from someone pretending to be BT, saying my ‘BT line’ is suffering from a virus and will be cut off if I don’t ring their ‘tech support’ number. Totally ignore it and just hang up.
