Got a call supposedly from BT saying my phone line was about to be cut off, the number they called from was (01696) 483618. Don’t fall for it, it’s a total scam. They tell you to press option one, but if you do, they hit you with a £100 fee on your BT bill straight away. It’s all automated, no real person, so most people end up pressing the button to speak to “someone” and get stung. This is really dodgy, and people need to watch out because it sounds legit if you just listen to the message. Stay clear of that number and don’t press any options!
