I accidentally forgot to switch on my BT Call Guardian, which usually blocks these kinds of calls. This time, I got an automated voice saying I’d supposedly bought an Apple iPad through my Amazon account, telling me to press 1 if it wasn’t me to cancel the purchase. I reckon pressing 1 might just lead to a premium rate line. The number 01296436137 seems questionable and probably isn’t genuine, but it looks like it's got the Aylesbury dialling code. Like others have warned before on this site, be really careful if the message starts with "Dear Customer."
